Let's get a little historical tonight.
We'll be digging a little on how the Mali Kingdom was Established.
Mali was perhaps the largest and richest of the Sudanese kingdom and was best known throughout Africa and Europe
It was rightly called the Empire of Mali. It's rulers do embark on pilgrimage journey to mecca and so through these attracted foreign investors of different religions both Christian and Moslem.
Mali started as a very small Mandingo Kingdom of Kangaba which have on its west the river bakoy (a tributary river of River Senegal). It's capital was Jeriba.
This kingdom was so large that it was noticed by another Mandingo Chief called sumanguru, who had just destroyed Ghana.
He captured and killed the eleven sons of the King of Mali but Spared the twelfth, a cripple boy called Sundiata.
This Boy grew up to be strong in both body and mind and he began the Mali Empire. Till today, he was praised as the National hero of the Mandingo people.
When he cams to the throne, he gathered a handful of loyal and trusted bodyguards who went with him in conquests ranging from the Conquering of the Kingdom of Sangaran, join hands with his vanquished and went with the soldiers of sangaran to conquer the Futa Jallon. In this way, he gained more armies and fought many wars till he came back for the head of his major enemy SUMANGURU.
After all these major wars, in the middle of the seventeenth century, Mali was thus established and most of its inhabitants are good Moslems.
