Life And Death Of Isaac Newton

Sir Isaac Newton (25 December - 20 March 1727) was an English theologian, author, physicist and mathematician. Isaac Newton has been regarded as one of the most influential scientists of all time, a vibrant figure in the scientific revolution. He laid the foundation of the classical mechancs in one of his books "Mathematical Principle of Natural Philosophy" published in 1687. He made contributions to optics, shared credit with Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz for the development of the infinitesimal calculus.

Newton found the law of motion and universal gravitation that formed the dominant scientific viewpoint untill it was superceded by the theory of relativity. Newton made use of his mathematical description of gravity to prove Kepler's law of planetary motion, account for tides, the trajectories of comets, the precession of the equinoxes and some other phenomenal eradicating the doubt about the solar system's heliocentricity. He showed that the motion of object on Earth and the celestial bodies could be accounted for by these sure principle.

The inference of Newton that the Earth is an ablate splenoid was confirmed by the geodetic measuremen of Maupertuis; La condamine, and other which convinced most of the European Scientists that Newton's mechanics is superior over earlier system.

Newton got to build the first practical reflecting telescope and developed a sophisticated theory of column based on the observation that a prism separates white light into different colours of visible spectrum. He published his book on light "opticks" in 1704. He also found the law of cooling, deduced the means by which calculations of the speed of sound can be gotten. He also contributed to the study of the power series. He was a fellow of  Trinity college and he was also the second lucasian professor of Mathematics at the university of Cambridge.

He was a devoted christian, though unorthodox and privately rejected the doctrine of the trinity. He refused to take holy orders in the church of England which is very much unusual for a member of Cambridge faculty of the day. Apart from Newton's works on mathematical science, he studied alchemy and Bible chronology but he didn't get to publish his work , untill long after he died.

Newton died in his sleep in London on 20 March 1727. His body was buried in Westminster Abbey.
